Grinder Operator – Weekend Shift

What You'll Do

Operate grinding equipment to remove excess material and prepare steel components to customer specifications.
Grind, smooth, and finish metal surfaces to meet quality requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
Measure and inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.
Perform visual inspections to identify defects and ensure product quality.
Move materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment when needed.
Maintain production records and complete quality documentation.
Assist with machine setup, grinding wheel changes, and basic equipment maintenance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Communicate effectively with team members and other shifts regarding production status.
Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1–3 years of manufacturing, fabrication, grinding, machine operation, or related production experience preferred.
Previous grinder, fabrication, metal finishing, welding, or machine operator experience is highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
Ability to stand, bend, twist, and work in a physically demanding environment throughout the shift.
Comfortable working around industrial equipment, metal materials, dust, and noise.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
