Inventory Control Specialist

Overview

 Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records within the warehouse and ensuring inventory integrity through cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and warehouse management system (WMS) transactions. This position works closely with operations, receiving, shipping, and quality teams to identify inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. 

Skills and Experience

  • Conduct inventory cycle counts and physical inventory audits. 
  •  Verify inventory accuracy through regular stock checks and reconciliations. 
  •  Research inventory variances and determine root causes of discrepancies. 
  •  Analyze inventory trends and generate reports to maintain inventory health. 
  •  Investigate missing, damaged, or misplaced inventory and document findings. 
  •  Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS). 
  •  Process inventory adjustments, transfers, and corrections according to company procedures. 
  •  Count and reconcile randomly selected locations and part numbers. 
  •  Assist with inventory-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  •  Partner with warehouse operations to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency. 
  •  Ensure compliance with company inventory control procedures and safety policies. 
  •  Support receiving, shipping, and quality departments as needed. 
Qualifications

  •  High School Diploma or GED required. 
  •  Minimum 6 months of inventory, warehouse, logistics, or related experience preferred. 
  •  Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). 
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic computer applications. 
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes. 
  •  Strong organizational and communication skills. 
  •  Forklift experience preferred. 
Physical Requirements

  •  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  •  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. 
  •  Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures. 
  •  Ability to operate warehouse equipment when required.
