Overview
We are currently hiring a Forklift Certified Shop Hand for a well-established industrial facility in Lafayette. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role supporting daily shop operations. Ideal candidates will be dependable, safety-focused, and ready to jump in immediately.
This is a short-term assignment (2–3 weeks) with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
Job Details
- Pay: $17.00/hour
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 2–3 weeks (potential for extension)

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling
- Operate a forklift to move materials safely and efficiently
- Clean, mask, and prepare parts for processing
- Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
- Support production flow and assist team members as needed
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
- Complete tasks assigned by the Shop Manager with efficiency and accuracy
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial shop environment preferred
- Hands-on experience operating a forklift in a fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized throughout the shift
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly in a production environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
Requirements
- Valid forklift certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods
- Must be able to follow directions and work safely at all times
