Overview
Looking for packers in a poultry processing plant that are responsible for packing, boxing, and staging poultry products (such as whole birds or cut parts) for freezing or shipment, operating within temperature-controlled, low-temperature environments (typically 0°C to 4°C for fresh, or below -18°C for frozen). They are essential for maintaining the cold chain, which ensures food safety and quality by preventing microbial growth after processing.
Skills and Experience
Working in, or moving between, refrigerated areas (0°C to 4°C) and deep-freeze areas (below -18°C, often -35°C in blast freezers). Standing for long periods, repetitive motion in packing, and lifting or moving boxes, often while wearing specialized protective clothing (insulated coats, gloves, and boots). Working at a high pace, often aligned with, or immediately following, automated conveyor systems, to quickly move products from the packing stage to the freezer. Able to lift over 40 pounds continuedly.
