We are seeking a strong, hands-on Night Operations Manager to lead warehouse operations for a fast-paced distribution environment in Durham. This role is responsible for overseeing all night shift activities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and a positive team culture. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning you’ll go straight onto our client’s payroll with long-term growth potential.
- $80,000–$90,000/year
- Sunday (4:30pm until)–Thursday (6:30pm until)
- Direct hire
As the Night Manager, it is your responsibility to ensure that all order picking, packing, and shipping functions are performed.
- Lead and oversee all night shift warehouse operations (picking, packing, shipping, staging)
- Supervise and develop a team of night operations associates
- Ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to company standards
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and cross-training initiatives
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Collaborate with Operations and HR on hiring, training, and employee relations
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, etc.)
- Provide nightly operational updates to leadership
- Drive continuous improvement in workflow and efficiency
Skills and Experience
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of warehouse management experience (required)
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Experience managing high-volume distribution or logistics operations
- Forklift experience (certification preferred)
- Ability to handle conflict resolution and difficult conversations
- Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Basic computer skills and operational systems knowledge
- Must be able to pass a full, lifetime background check
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Active role: walking/standing most of the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Fast-paced warehouse setting
