Overview
The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining and cleaning various types of flooring in commercial facilities. This includes routine cleaning, polishing, and restoring floors to ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain floors using appropriate equipment and chemicals
- Strip, wax, buff, and polish hard surface floors
- Shampoo and extract carpets as needed
- Operate floor machines such as buffers, burnishers, and auto scrubbers
- Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas, including hallways, restrooms, and common spaces
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management
- Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- Previous floor care or commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to operate floor care equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
Work Environment:
- Commercial facilities such as offices, warehouses, or industrial buildings
- May require evening, overnight, or weekend shifts
