Overview
responsible for cleaning, smoothing, and preparing surfaces by using abrasive blasting equipment. This role involves removing rust, paint, scale, and other contaminants from metal or other surfaces to ensure they are properly prepared for coating, painting, or finishing.
Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently
- Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, rust, old paint, and debris
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain and clean blasting equipment and work areas
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work with team members to meet production deadlines
Requirements:
- Previous sandblasting or industrial experience preferred
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments (standing, lifting, bending)
- Knowledge of safety standards and equipment handling
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to safely lift and carry 50–75 lbs required
Work Environment:
- Industrial or warehouse setting
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures
- Requires use of protective gear such as respirators, gloves, and eye protection
