Overview
Position Summary:
The General Labor Worker supports daily operations in a steel pipe and tubular products facility. This role involves handling materials, assisting with production processes, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and move steel pipes and materials within the yard or warehouse
- Assist with cutting, threading, coating, or preparing pipe for shipment
- Operate basic tools and equipment (training provided as needed)
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including removing debris and scrap materials
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support machine operators, welders, and other skilled workers as needed
- Inspect materials for damage or defects before processing or shipping
- Perform general yard duties, including organizing inventory and staging materials
Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of tools or construction/manufacturing experience preferred
Work Environment:
- Industrial/warehouse setting with exposure to heavy equipment and materials
- Fast-paced, hands-on work environment
- May involve working around machinery, noise, and outdoor elements
