Overview
Responsibilities: Responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment and machinery within a manufacturing or production setting. Ensures processes are efficient and adhere to safety standards, while promptly addressing any technical issues that may arise. Maintains quality standards through vigilant oversight and effective troubleshooting. This position requires technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. Key skills include: problem-solving, analytical thinking, attention to detail, adaptability, mechanical aptitude, and data collection and analysis. Additionally, a solid understanding of safety procedures, strong numeracy skills, and a meticulous approach are essential. This role offers daily variations; however, some tasks may be repetitive. The daily routine begins with inspecting the first part sent through the machinery for defects. This involves cutting a part in half to examine the interior/ exterior and recording all relevant information, performed every six hours. Subsequently, the candidate will monitor the machines to ensure they are functioning properly. Throughout each shift, the candidate is responsible for documenting all activities and observations.
Skills and Experience
This role requires experience in a manufacturing or production environment with hands-on involvement in operating and monitoring machinery. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain consistent production flow. Experience with quality control processes, including inspection, measurement (such as using calipers), and data recording, is essential. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting where attention to detail and quick problem-solving are critical. Additionally, the role benefits from experience in supporting team operations, such as assisting other operators, managing multiple machines, and adapting to changing priorities throughout a shift. A solid understanding of safety procedures and the ability to communicate effectively—especially in team-based environments—are also important.
