Maintenance Technician

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our shredding operations team. This role is responsible for equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Follow all SHECS safety policies and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, system checks, safety inspections, and facility upkeep.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs (AC/DC applications).
  • Complete work orders and communicate inventory needs.
  • Assist with incident investigations and conduct safety meetings as required.
  • Operate mobile equipment when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, dust-controlled work environment meeting OSHA standards.
  • Support team members and fill in as needed.

Skills and Experience

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred).
  • 5+ years electrical/mechanical experience.
  • PLC & VFD troubleshooting experience.
  • Welding/fabrication (TIG, MIG, electrode).
  • Experience with hydraulics and reading technical drawings.
  • Maintenance certifications preferred.

Work Environment:

Non-climate-controlled warehouse with exposure to dust, noise, and temperature changes. Must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and wearing required PPE.
