INVENTORY & AUDIT ASSOCIATE - INBOUND/OUTBOUND (FOOD DISTRIBUTION)

Position Summary

As one of the world’s largest food-grade logistics companies, McLane Global relies on the efficiency of its fulfillment centers. We are currently seeking an Inventory Associate who will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and performing regular inventory counts. This role ensures inventory accuracy to support efficient operations and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counts and verification of material movement.
  • Enter data for quantities of parts issued, transferred, relocated, inventory cycle counts, and adjustments in databases or spreadsheets.
  • Conduct system and document audits of various material movement processes.
  • Provide physical inventory movement, as necessary.
  • Track and analyze various related inventory issues or problems.
  • Reconcile inventory, movement, or misplacement.
  • Conduct accurate cycle count of inventory locations per handheld device in the warehouse and make system updates as required.
  • Reach and resolve inventory variances.
  • Validate the date of products in the warehouse and update as required.
  • Audit and correct inbound receiving paperwork.
  • Respond to internal buyer requests for item checks in the warehouse.
  • Coordinate the handling of obsolete and at-risk inventory (vendor returns, donations, recalls, expired products) to include identifying, communicating, adjusting, and validating products.

  • TIME: Plan for 30–45 minutes to meet with our recruiting team.


Skills and Experience

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ experience in inventory or warehousing.
  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks, including forklifts and cherry pickers.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights using lift equipment.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft D365 a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must have food industry experience and pass a background and drug screen.
