What You'll Do as a Field Service Technician:
- You will be the Primary Technical Resource: Assist customers, handling everything from initial commissioning to deep-dive component repairs.
- Field Support: Handle the assembly, installation, and testing of industrial control systems at various customer facilities.
- Expert Troubleshooting: Diagnose root causes of equipment failure and perform on-site repairs on VFDs, timers, counters, and power supplies.
- Component-Level Repair: Go beyond simple board swaps—perform intricate electronic repairs using oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- System Programming: Independently program and repair Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and PLCs.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and final adjustments to ensure peak unit function.
- Safety & Logistics: Comply with OSHA and UL 508A standards while maintaining a clean, professional service vehicle.
Skills and Experience
What You’ll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Education: 2-year degree in Electronics or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Prowess: Proficiency with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, Huntron/Pinpoint, and IC programmers.
- Electronic Logic: Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and microprocessor circuit concepts.
- Blueprints: Ability to read and cross-reference component data sheets, schematics, and diagrams.
- Road Ready: Valid driver’s license with a clean record and a willingness to travel 50%+ of the time.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform precision work with small components.
