Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to oversee operations within our Fabrication Department. This role is responsible for supervising approximately 37 employees, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting employee development. The position will begin with training on the 1st shift and transition to the 2nd shift upon completion of training.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 2:30 PM – 1:30 AM
- Friday: 2:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Compensation
- $26–$28 per hour, based on experience
Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of 37+ fabrication employees to ensure production targets, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Coordinate daily production activities, ensuring machines remain operational and workflow is optimized.
- Perform and oversee regular quality inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Approve employee timecards and manage weekly vacation and sick time requests.
- Provide daily feedback, coaching, and guidance to team members to promote performance, accountability, and professional growth.
- Enforce all safety protocols, company policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Monitor and record nightly production output and scrap rates, reporting results as required.
- Address safety concerns promptly and assist with incident investigations, injury reporting, and corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and HR guidelines.
- Collaborate with management, maintenance, and other departments to resolve production issues and improve processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in basic computer applications for reporting, timekeeping, and documentation.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods.
