Overview
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Loader / Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing pallets of outgoing freight for shipment and loading trailers according to predetermined loading plans. This role ensures products are loaded in the correct stop sequence, damage-free, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards. The position supports efficient warehouse and production operations while assisting Order Selectors and working collaboratively as part of the warehouse team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review daily work schedules, perform safety inspections on equipment, and gather necessary supplies prior to operations.
- Inspect empty trailers at the loading dock to ensure cleanliness and readiness before loading.
- Transport outgoing freight from staging areas to the loading dock using a forklift, power jack, or manual methods.
- Wrap and secure pallets by hand using cellophane and ensure shipping labels are properly applied.
- Load products into trailers in the correct stop sequence following established loading plans.
- Properly position and secure freight within trailers once loading is complete.
- Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and packing materials to designated areas; inspect, stack, and store pallets appropriately.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, loading dock, and trailer area.
- Recharge and replace equipment batteries, complete vehicle inspection checklists, and secure equipment at shift end.
- Assist Order Selectors and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills and Experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, twist, kneel, stand, sit, stoop, walk, lift, carry, and use handheld tools or devices throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience (required).
Experience Requirements:
- Required: 6–12 months of warehouse and/or production experience.
- Preferred: 1–2 years of warehouse and/or production experience.
Certifications (Preferred):
- OSHA Forklift Operator Certification.
Schedule:
- Preferred Shift: Sunday–Thursday, rotating Fridays
- Start Time: 6:00 p.m. until work is completed
