Overview
The Truck Loader plays an essential role in the logistics and transportation operations. This position is responsible for loading, unloading, and securing freight on trucks or trailers, ensuring all shipments are handled safely, efficiently, and according to company and customer standards.
Skills and Experience
- Load and unload trailers using manual or powered equipment (such as pallet jacks or forklifts).
- Inspect, count, and verify incoming and outgoing freight to ensure accuracy.
- Properly secure loads to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff to coordinate loading and delivery schedules.
- Operate handheld scanners or tablets for shipment tracking and documentation.
- Assist with general warehouse and dock labor duties as needed (e.g., sweeping, pallet stacking, inventory checks).
