Overview
We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team in a hands-on, fast-paced metal fabrication environment. This is a Teammate-to-Hire position with great growth potential for the right person. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating forklifts, assisting in metal fabrication, and supporting the shipping and receiving department. Responsibilities: -Safely operate and load flatbeds using a sit-down forklift (minimum 1 year experience required) -Get trained on a Combination Lift (Yard Lift) to handle large materials up to 20 feet in length -Assist in the fabrication shop — operate machinery that cuts and processes metal sheets -Sort, stack, and bundle materials for outgoing shipments -Work in the shipping department to prepare and load materials for delivery -Receive and organize stock, perform inventory counts, and maintain packaging standards -Operate hand tools and machinery such as: Hand brake, Powered hand folder, Splitters and CTL line -Perform accurate measurements and basic math calculations during fabrication -Maintain a clean and safe work environment while assisting teammates as needed Requirements: -Minimum 1 year of forklift (sit-down) experience – required -Must be able to safely operate flatbed and yard lifts -Ability to handle large materials (up to 20 ft) -Must not be color blind (for material identification and labeling) -Good math skills and attention to detail -Team player with a strong work ethic and “go-getter” attitude -Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should bring a mix of technical skill, reliability, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment and a strong understanding of safe material handling practices. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding in reading schematics, problem solving skills, and mechanical skills. -Background in metal fabrication or machine operation is a plus -Ability to read measurements, perform basic math, and follow detailed production instructions -Proven track record of reliability, teamwork, and safety awareness Preferred experience: -Operating fabrication equipment such as: --Combi forklift --Splitters and ctl line --Strong communication skills and a positive, "get it done" attitude --Experience in a shop or yard environment where helping teammates and cross training are part of the culture --CNC Machining
