Overview
Excelsior Staffing is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Tool and Die Technician to join a high-performing manufacturing team in Salisbury, NC. This position is ideal for a mechanically skilled professional who takes pride in maintaining precision tooling and supporting a fast-paced production environment.
As part of this role, you’ll perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of molds, dies, and tooling to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production operations.
Skills and Experience
- Maintain, repair, and rebuild molds, dies, and production tooling.
- Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to fabricate or modify components.
- Perform TIG/MIG welding for tooling adjustments and repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to ensure part accuracy.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot tooling problems.
- Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
3+ years of experience in tool and die maintenance or mold repair in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Skilled in manual machining and metal fabrication.
Proficient with precision measurement tools and blueprint reading.
Technical certificate or associate degree in Tool & Die, Machining, or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.
