What You’ll Do as a Maintenance Technician:
- Repairs, adjusts and assists in routine machine maintenance as necessary using diagnostic equipment.
- Conducts inspections and tests on equipment and instruments as part of the preventative maintenance program and maintains documentation.
- Responds to requests for support from the Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager and other maintenance staff on repairs and projects.
- Takes part in staff development and training activities.
- Installs and tests equipment and machinery.
- Informs relevant Grass employees on maintenance status.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
- Builds, repairs, and modifies hand assembly machines.
- Completes weekly, monthly and quarterly preventive maintenance tasks and reports
- Troubleshooting of PLCs, Servo Drives, Etc.
- Attends machine Improvement meetings and is open for changes.
- Reads and understands complex blueprints, schematics, plans, and service manuals.
- Accountable for Company Safety Guidelines (such as Lock out / Tag out). Also responsible for PPE (personal protection equipment).
- Understands and adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Skills and Experience
What You’ll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience.
- Trouble shooting experience on PLC’s (input / output)
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Programs.
- Basic computer skills needed.
Physical Demands:
- Hands on which includes periodically bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing ladders, moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Move and lift heavy objects up to 50lbs periodically.
- Make machine adjustments using hands and fingers.
- Stand or walk for up to 3/4 of the day.
- Willingness to work overtime.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Electrical background.
- Some welding experience.
- Communicates well with others.
- Team Player.
