Overview
Responsible for the efficient and accurate movement of large, bulky, or heavy materials within a warehouse, retail, or industrial environment. The role requires standing, stooping, twisting, lifting, and bending all day. 30-50lbs Lifting requirements, and on your feet throughout the day!
- Organize and store materials in their designated warehouse locations, including stacking pallets securely.
- Perform regular cycle counts and conduct periodic physical inventories to maintain accurate stock records.
- Utilize handheld RF scanners or inventory software to track and manage the movement of all goods.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and dock area, following all housekeeping standards.
- Pull, pick, and package orders for shipment according to packing lists and customer specifications.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Load outgoing shipments onto delivery trucks, ensuring the load is secured and accounted for.
- Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, and carriers to track shipments and resolve any issues.
Skills and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or GED is often required.
- Experience: Typically requires 1 to 2 years of experience in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving role.
- Attention to detail: Critical for inspecting goods, managing inventory, and preventing costly shipping errors.
- Physical stamina: The ability to lift and move heavy objects (often 50–100 lbs or more) and stand for long periods.
- Communication: Good verbal and written skills for clear communication with team members, supervisors, and drivers.
