Overview

Ōnin Staffing is seeking a Recycling Maintenance Technician (Maintenance Helper) in the Fayetteville area. This position is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, and servicing machinery and equipment to ensure continuous production and exceptional quality. Candidates must have hands-on mechanical skills, welding experience, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of industrial systems.

  • Pay rate: Starting at $17.00/hr – DOE
  •  Shift: 2:00pm –11:30pm, Monday to Friday (with potential overtime)

Skills and Experience

What You’ll Do as a Recycling Maintenance Technician
  • Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on all machinery and vehicles.
  • Inspect and repair equipment safety guards, hydraulics, brakes, and safety systems.
  • Service forklifts, balers, conveyors, loaders, densifiers, and production lines (plastic and glass).
  • Conduct troubleshooting, replace hydraulic hoses, valves, filters, fluids, belts, bearings, motors, and other parts.
  • Complete welding and metal fabrication repairs (structural work, wear plates, cages, and frames).
  • Maintain written maintenance logs and submit monthly inventory/supply reports.
  • Assist and train operators in basic equipment upkeep.
  • Follow lockout/tagout and OSHA safety protocols at all times.
  • Support facility maintenance tasks including cleaning, grounds work, and project-based assignments.

The preferred candidate will have:
  • 7–10 years’ experience with mechanical, electrical, and maintenance duties.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic pumps, and electrical prints.
  • Welding experience (stick and wire feed).
  • Ability to read a tape measure and follow blueprints/schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and travel to other locations if required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying climates.
  • Basic computer/data entry skills.
  • High degree of safety awareness and a professional attitude.
