What you'll do as: Tool & Die Machinist
- Operate manual lathes, vertical mills, drill presses, band saws, and hydraulic presses.
- Fabricate and shape metal, plastic, and composite components to specifications.
- Read blueprints and use precision measuring tools to verify tight tolerances.
- Set up and align tooling, fixtures, and materials safely.
- Clean and maintain equipment, estimate machining time, and support other shop areas.
Skills and Experience
Preferred Candidate Might:
- At least 5 years of manual machining experience.
- Experience machining harder metals such as Inconel 718, 17-4 stainless steel, titanium, or 4340 steel.
- Proficiency with blueprint reading, GD&T, and metrology equipment.
- Experience estimating machining time and materials; balancing or grinding experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, operate overhead cranes, and lift up to 50 pounds.
