Auto Mechanic – Diesel Experience Preferred
Location: Florence, AL
Pay: Based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Auto Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles. Candidates with diesel mechanic experience, particularly with buses, trucks, or heavy equipment, are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
- Repair and maintain air brake systems, suspension, and steering components.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using diagnostic tools.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle HVAC systems.
- Perform DOT safety inspections and follow applicable safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
Skills and Experience
- At least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience preferred, especially with buses, trucks, or heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of engine repair, air brake systems, and DOT safety requirements.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and standard mechanical tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment.
- Resume demonstrating relevant mechanical experience is required.
- Must be able to complete a three-part interview process.
