Are you confident on the phone, persistent, and able to stay professional in challenging conversations? Ōnin Staffing is looking for a Collections Specialist to join a fast-paced team focused on debt recovery.
Job Description
In this role, you’ll make outbound collection calls, work with customers to resolve outstanding balances, and accurately document each interaction. Training is provided on the company’s systems, procedures, and collection process.
Responsibilities include:
- Make outbound calls regarding outstanding balances
- Communicate professionally and confidently with customers
- Work toward resolving outstanding debts
- Accurately document calls, conversations, and outcomes
- Enter detailed notes into the company system
- Follow established collection procedures and guidelines
- Maintain professionalism and composure during difficult conversations
- Consistently follow up and make repeated attempts when needed

- Has strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Is comfortable making frequent outbound calls
- Has a thick skin and can handle difficult conversations
- Understands that some calls may result in a hang-up, no answer, or an unhappy customer
- Can remain calm and professional even when someone is rude or frustrated
- Is persistent and willing to keep trying after unsuccessful calls
- Is comfortable working with computers and entering detailed notes
- Is dependable, organized, and able to follow procedures
- Learns quickly and is open to training
