What You’ll Do as a Knitting Machine Operator:
- Operate and monitor Raschel knitting machines used to produce narrow fabrics
- Load and thread yarn and other materials into production equipment
- Adjust machine speed, yarn tension, needles, and guides as needed
- Monitor equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production
- Inspect finished fabric for broken threads, incorrect patterns, uneven stitching, and other defects
- Repair yarn breaks and make basic machine adjustments
- Complete routine equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance
- Follow production orders, quality requirements, and safety procedures
- Record production totals, material usage, downtime, and quality information
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills and Experience
What You’ll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Previous machine-operating or manufacturing experience
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Experience setting up, adjusting, or monitoring production equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to identify product defects and mechanical problems
- Ability to read work orders and follow production specifications
- Good hand-eye coordination and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work well with a team
- Textile or knitting-machine experience is preferred but not required
