What You'll Do as a Grinder Operator:
- Operate & Adjust Equipment: Learn to operate double disc grinders, make required machine adjustments, and perform component changeovers including grinding wheels, carriers, and rails.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Continuously inspect parts while the machine is running for finish, thickness, flatness, and defects. Record inspection results on checksheets and inspect, sort, or rework nonconforming parts.
- Production & Quality: Follow established procedures, recognize quality concerns, communicate issues to the appropriate team members, and help prevent recurring quality problems.
- Material & Waste Handling: Stack, load, and unload parts from the machine, and clean up, remove, and properly recycle grinder swarf.
- Digital System Reporting: Learn and use the Plex Manufacturing Cloud system to accurately report production, scrap, and downtime data.
- Safety & Teamwork: Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and assist with other production tasks as needed.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in hands-on training and develop the skills needed to independently operate and adjust grinding equipment.
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- 1-2 years of manufacturing experience required.
- Grinder experience preferred—we’re willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to learn new equipment, follow instructions, and complete hands-on training.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to use or learn precision measuring tools and production systems.
- Ability to work 1st shift during training before transitioning to 2nd shift.
