Maintenance Technician

Overview

Location: El Paso, TX
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift

Position Summary
We are looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our building, warehouse, and equipment safe, clean, and operating properly.

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, general repairs, and facility upkeep. This is a great opportunity for someone with maintenance experience who enjoys working with their hands and is interested in developing their skills in building maintenance, HVAC, and electrical work.

Key Responsibilities
Building & Facility Maintenance
  • Inspect the building, grounds, and warehouse for maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete general repairs, including:
    • Drywall repair and painting.
    • Minor flooring repairs, stripping, and waxing.
    • Light concrete repairs.
    • Ceiling tile replacement.
    • Basic carpentry repairs.
    • Door, window, and hardware repairs.
  • Maintain hallways, breakrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and unclogging drains.
  • Replace filters and inspect, clean, and maintain mini-split and portable cooling units.
  • Document completed preventive maintenance and repairs.
Warehouse Maintenance
  • Inspect and maintain warehouse racking and storage systems.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on dock levelers, dock doors, dock locks, and related equipment.
  • Inspect warehouse equipment and report issues requiring specialized repairs or outside service.
  • Read and understand basic blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
Equipment Operation
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment needed for maintenance work.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications for powered industrial equipment.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and facility procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, and facility concerns promptly.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and emergency maintenance needs as assigned.

Skills and Experience

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous maintenance or facility experience preferred.
  • Basic HVAC knowledge or experience.
  • Electrical experience or Electrician Apprentice experience preferred.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Dependable, responsible, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repairs.
