What You’ll Do as a Welder:
- Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding operations on carbon steel, stainless steel, and structural metal components.
- Interpret complex technical blueprints, engineering schematics, and standardized AWS welding symbols to accurately plan and fit assemblies.
- Safely set up, operate, and maintain shop machinery including plasma cutters, band saws, press brakes, ironworkers, and grinding tools.
- Measure, align, and secure raw materials using precision measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures, micrometers) and custom fixturing.
- Conduct pre- and post-weld quality inspections to ensure full joint penetration, dimensional accuracy, and clean aesthetic finishes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, or forklifts safely to manipulate heavy materials and structural fabrications.
Skills and Experience
What You’ll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- At least 1+ years of practical MIG welding and metal fabrication experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to read and execute fabrication instructions directly from engineering blueprints and shop drawings.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with hands-on proficiency using power tools, cutting torches, and measurement equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing clean, structurally sound welds every time.
- Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding shop environment (standing, bending, reaching).
- Experience with TIG welding or CNC metal processing equipment is a strong plus.
- A safety-first mindset and dependable work ethic.
