What You'll Do as an Upholsterer:
- Applying fabric, vinyl, or leather to furniture frames.
- Pulling and stretching material tightly to eliminate wrinkles.
- Using pneumatic staple guns, scissors, knives, and other hand tools to secure upholstery.
- Installing foam, padding, batting, and other cushioning materials.
- Inspecting materials for defects, correct color, and proper fit before and during assembly.
- Reading production schedules or work orders to ensure the correct materials and styles are used.
- Trimming excess fabric and making final adjustments for a clean, professional appearance.
- Working on a production line while meeting daily quality and productivity goals.
- Keeping your workstation clean and following all safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Upholstery background within the last 5 years.
- Experience operating a staple gun to apply finished covers to chair frames accurately.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical capability to stand for full 8-hour+ shifts.
