Overview
reads blueprints to fabricate and repair metal parts, performs MIG/TIG welding on various materials and thicknesses, uses handheld and inspection tools, maintains welding equipment, performs quality checks, and follows safety procedures. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years of metal fabrication experience, and strong attention to detail.

Skills and Experience
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and specifications to guide fabrication and assembly.
- Create welding set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements, and fabricate metal details, pieces, and products.
- Operate various hand tools, including grinders, weld stud guns, calipers, weld gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance on weld machines and evaluate their performance to improve efficiency.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet standards, identify defects, and document them as needed.
- Rework or repair existing welded parts and products according to specifications.
- Adhere to all quality standards and safety procedures, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 years of experience as a metal fabricator is needed.
- Skills: Requires good reading skills, the ability to follow directions, a high attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately and thoroughly.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, have manual dexterity, and be able to regularly lift 30-50 pounds. Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane is also required.
