Automotive Maintenance Technician

Overview

Supports all production and facility equipment during normal operation, performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, and maintains facility in top condition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Routinely inspects and maintains production equipment.
  • Performs minor and routine repairs including but not limited to painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
  • Assists with the installation and modification of building or production equipment systems, if needed.
  • Creates and maintains up-to-date service and replacement data files production related equipment.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Creates and maintains preventive maintenance files.
  • Ensures PMs are performed at designated intervals.
  • Assist with procurement of service contracts/repair work; assists with purchase of many facility fixtures and equipment.
  • Responds in a timely fashion to problems related to facility maintenance and repair.
  • Implements corrective actions when equipment issues occur.
  • Makes recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.
  • Inspects production related equipment of unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment.
  • Possesses and maintains a high level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations.
  • Prepares required reports and correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Orders and maintain spare parts for equipment.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years' experience in a maintenance position, preferably in an automotive related environment.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and industry.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan and organize projects.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficient on Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • MS Access experience.
  • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) experience.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift and carry up to and above 50 pounds.
  • Use ladders and scaffolds.
  • Work at heights and in inclement weather.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
