What You’ll Do as a Regulatory Compliance Assistant:
- Coordinate pre-employment and ongoing compliance requirements, including drug screens, CDL physicals, and required certifications.
- Maintain accurate driver qualification files and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Process DOT employment verification requests.
- Oversee DOT Clearinghouse activities, including CDL driver registration, required pre-employment and annual queries, recordkeeping, follow-up testing coordination, and reporting as required by FMCSA regulations.
- Assist with the administration of the company's Drug and Alcohol Program.
- Answer questions and provide support to managers and employees regarding compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance records in accordance with DOT regulations and company record retention requirements.
- Support company-wide regulatory compliance programs and ensure policies are followed.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with regulatory agencies, employees, managers, and customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new software and office systems quickly.
- Strong computer, typing, and data entry skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and a willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Professional, dependable, and able to build positive working relationships with employees and management.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
