Overview
This role is responsible for performing both physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, and material distribution. Duties include checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining accurate records, rejecting unsatisfactory items, and preparing goods for final shipment. The position involves lifting heavy items, stocking and distributing materials, preparing kits for production, and operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
Responsibilities
- Perform cycle counts of inventory and raw materials to ensure accuracy
- Kit materials for shop orders and deliver to the manufacturing floor.
- Run daily and weekly inventory and production reports.
Safely handle and transport fragile items, ensuring proper placement in assigned locations. - Receive incoming materials and accurately record transactions in the ERP system.
- Replenish stock locations daily and move pallets using manual floor lift equipment.
- Pull finished goods for shipping and provide support across warehouse and production areas.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
- Pick and deliver products to manufacturing work centers.
- Track production jobs to ensure timely progress through each stage.
- Update and maintain operations management systems.
- Collaborate with scheduling, manufacturing, quality, and shipping/receiving teams to track and expedite projects
- Perform required computer functions to monitor goods and materials.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to leadership.
- Ensure adequate materials are staged for manufacturing and organized per scheduling requirements.
- Communicate directly with manufacturing leadership to resolve material or scheduling issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in shipping/receiving and inventory control
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and perform basic math.
Experience using ERP systems (SAP or similar) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Familiarity with inventory stocking processes and computer systems is an asset.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
