Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Second Shift Supervisor to lead daily operations in a fast-paced warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, productivity, and employee development.
This position is responsible for overseeing second-shift operations, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a positive work environment. Candidates with experience implementing 5S and continuous improvement initiatives are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse and production employees during second-shift operations.
- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve operational goals.
- Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Investigate and resolve operational challenges, employee concerns, and workflow issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, and corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with management to improve processes and increase operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production and staffing reports.
- Support and promote 5S initiatives and continuous improvement programs throughout the facility.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience implementing and maintaining 5S programs.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.
