Overview
The Parking Lot Porter ensures that parking lots, sidewalks, and surrounding exterior areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Duties include removing trash and debris, emptying outdoor trash receptacles, sweeping lots, picking up litter, and reporting any safety hazards or maintenance issues. The porter may also assist with minor landscaping tasks such as light weed removal or pressure washing as needed. Additional responsibilities can include directing vehicles during peak times, assisting customers when needed, and ensuring clear walkways and signage visibility. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions. Regular communication with supervisors is expected to report issues or completed tasks.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to walk, stand, and move for extended periods
- Basic communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Attention to detail and strong work ethic
- Reliable transportation to and from work site
- Prior janitorial, maintenance, or porter experience is a plus but not required
