Overview

  • Monitors and assigns drivers on-board communication equipment and vehicles to convey freight
  • Resolves routing issues, responsible for timely delivery of freight, cancellation resolutions, and monitoring driver performance
  • Dispatch drivers according to published schedules utilizing transportation software and on-board communication systems
  • Familiarity with a variety of the fields concepts
  • Monitors and directs daily dispatch activities of drivers, tractors, and trailers
  • Accurately enters times of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of delivery
  • Promptly respond to all customer requests with optimal customer service
  • Review, scan and file paperwork as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Exhibit safety awareness and competence

Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of transportation related work experience 
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • excellent communication and organization skills
  • Communicate clearly in-person and by telephone or other electronic means
  • Excellent customer service skills, including dealing with difficult situations
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite) TMW software knowledge
  • Knowledge of onboarding systems
  • Creative analytical skills
