Job Title: Welder / Shop Helper
Pay: $15–$20/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Overtime required as needed)
Travel: Required – Per diem provided
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Welder / Shop Helper to join our team at an industrial fence manufacturing company. This role involves hands-on welding, fabrication, and general shop support to assist in the production of high-quality industrial fencing. Candidates must have prior shop welding experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on metal components used in industrial fence production
- Assist with fabrication, cutting, measuring, and assembling fence materials
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Support shop operations including loading/unloading materials and maintaining a clean work area
- Follow blueprints, work orders, and supervisor instructions
- Prepare materials for shipment and assist with inventory as needed
- Travel to job sites when required to assist with installation or field work
Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of shop welding experience required (not just schooling)
- Experience with MIG welding and basic fabrication techniques
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic blueprints
- Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and performing physical labor
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Ability to travel for work assignments (per diem provided)
- Strong work ethic and dependability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in fence manufacturing or similar metal fabrication industry
- Familiarity with industrial shop environments
- Basic mechanical knowledge
Work Environment:
- Industrial shop setting with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery
- Outdoor work may be required during travel assignments
