What You’ll Do as a Plant Operator I:
- Operate and monitor steam boilers (up to 4,000 BHP) and chillers (up to 2,000 tons)
- Perform routine inspections and record system data (pressure, temperature, etc.)
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance on utility systems
- Assist with minor mechanical repairs, including piping and equipment adjustments
- Maintain boiler chemical treatment programs and plant cleanliness
- Monitor and support electrical distribution panels
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and safety protocols, including proper PPE usage
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free plant environment
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- 3+ years of experience in steam plant, boiler operations, or industrial maintenance
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems and utility equipment
- Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with OSHA and EPA safety standards
- Ability to read gauges, monitor system performance, and log operational data
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Plant Operator / Boiler Operator
- Maintenance Mechanic (industrial or facilities)
- HVAC Technician with central plant experience
- Utilities or Facilities Technician
