Overview
We are hiring for a large university in the Atlanta area seeking a Director of Maintenance Control to lead and oversee campus-wide facilities maintenance operations.
This role is responsible for managing a large, complex portfolio (10M+ square feet) across multiple campuses, including academic, residential, research, and recreational facilities. The Director will provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure all buildings, systems, and services are maintained safely, efficiently, and at a high standard.

What You’ll Do as a Director of Maintenance Control (Facilities Operations):
- Lead and oversee campus-wide maintenance operations across multiple facilities
- Manage 24/7 service delivery, including emergency and after-hours response
- Ensure reliability of critical systems (HVAC, electrical, life safety, generators)
- Oversee and manage vendor contracts to ensure quality and performance
- Develop and manage budgets, staffing, and resource planning
- Drive operational improvements and standardize maintenance processes
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and policies
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to maintain high service levels
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- 7+ years of facilities or maintenance management experience
- Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance operations
- Experience with CMMS / work order systems
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage budgets and vendors
- Ability to analyze data, track performance, and improve processes
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
