Overview
Job Summary:
The Certified Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and repairing metal components using approved techniques and industry standards. This role requires producing high-quality welds while maintaining strict adherence to safety, certification, and production requirements in both shop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding using MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core processes in accordance with certification standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols accurately
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and structural elements
- Inspect and evaluate completed welds to ensure strength, quality, and compliance
- Operate welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Conduct basic maintenance on tools and equipment and report any issues
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship
Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
- Valid welding certification (AWS or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience in structural, pipe, or fabrication welding
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools with accuracy
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions and environments
