What You'll Do as a Sanitation Technician:
- Operate and monitor the Palmex wastewater treatment system, including pumps, DAF units, and clarifiers to ensure compliance.
- Conduct routine plant rounds, inspect equipment, and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Collect and analyze wastewater samples for key parameters like pH, BOD, and FOG.
- Manage the application of treatment chemicals and the removal of sludge from the system.
- Maintain accurate records and logs for operational data and regulatory reporting.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local environmental regulations and safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's degree or previous experience in a food or beverage wastewater facility is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be proficient with computer-based monitoring systems and have a solid mechanical aptitude.
- You should be able to work well independently and as part of a team, with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in a plant environment that may be wet, noisy, or odorous.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
