Overview
We are seeking an experienced Swiss and Multi-Spindle Lathe Setup Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Swiss screw machines and multi-spindle lathes to ensure consistent production of high-quality parts.
The ideal candidate will have prior setup experience and a strong understanding of machining processes, quality standards, and ISO compliance. This is not an entry-level or training position.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Swiss screw machines and multi-spindle lathe machines
- Load bar stock and raw materials into machines
- Perform tooling changes and machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy
- Monitor machine performance and ensure parts meet quality specifications
- Replenish machine fluids and remove chips as needed
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues and minor maintenance tasks
- Support and help train other team members on machine setup and operation
- Follow all ISO standards, safety procedures, and housekeeping requirements
Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Swiss setup or lathe setup experience OR formal education focused on Swiss/lathe machining
- Prior hands-on setup experience is required (not a trainable position)
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, machine drawings, and electrical schematics
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be okay with working Monday through Thursday 4pm-2am.
