Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse, with a strong focus on supervising warehouse personnel and implementing action plans. The role includes oversight of inventory accuracy, shipping/receiving, and the handling of customer accounts located in the warehouse. The position aims to minimize product loss, damage, mis-shipments, and mis-picks while ensuring compliance with operational standards and safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operations:
  • Supervise warehouse staff daily to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operations. Develop training programs and coordinate shipping/receiving schedules. Collaborate with management to enhance performance.
  • Labor Management:
  • Oversee warehouse personnel to meet performance goals. Partner with HR for hiring, training, and development. Apply strong leadership techniques in supervising, counseling, and scheduling.
  • Equipment:
  • Implement a daily equipment allocation plan. Oversee maintenance programs and ensure proper, safe usage of material handling equipment.
  • Communications:
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments. Attend operational meetings to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Shipping/Receiving:
  • Supervise all inbound and outbound shipment processes. Ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and timely delivery.
  • Reporting:
  • Maintain all records and reports related to warehouse operations. Evaluate performance metrics and track progress toward goals.
  • Quality:
  • Monitor incoming/outgoing freight for accuracy and damage. Ensure compliance with shipping codes and standards.
  • Safety, Sanitation, and Security:
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure cleanliness, security, and organization. Enforce safety policies and OSHA compliance to prevent damage or injury.
  • Layout:
  • Assist in space planning and product placement to optimize cost and efficiency. Oversee product consolidation and relocation.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and support physical inventory processes as needed.
  • Budgeting:
  • Help maintain and develop operational budgets. Support cost-control efforts.
  • Availability:
  • Conduct regular warehouse tours to address questions, evaluate workflows, and proactively resolve issues.
