Location:
Florence, AL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Range: $25–$28/hour
Assignment Length: 3–6 months

We are seeking a Temporary Production Planner / Scheduler to support operations while a team member is on leave. This role will manage production scheduling for all operations at one of our Florence manufacturing plants and play a critical role in ensuring customer demand is met efficiently and on time.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced position requiring strong scheduling experience, SAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Position Summary

The Production Planner will report to the Master Production Scheduler and be responsible for developing, executing, and adjusting production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, capacity constraints, and material availability. This role is highly collaborative and customer-focused, supporting production, supply chain, logistics, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules based on demand, inventory, and capacity
  • Monitor inventory levels, WIP, and high-volume SKUs to prevent stockouts
  • Coordinate and execute production orders while ensuring schedule adherence
  • Analyze capacity constraints and identify potential production bottlenecks
  • Track and report key performance metrics including on-time delivery and schedule adherence
  • Maintain accurate scheduling files, master data, and production reports
  • Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and quality teams to support on-time production and shipment
  • Provide SAP production planning support and resolve scheduling-related system issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned



Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications
3+ years of production planning and scheduling experience

  • Strong SAP experience in areas such as:

    • Production Planning (PP)
    • MRP
    • BOMs, Routings, Work Centers
    • Inventory and Logistics
  • Solid understanding of SAP master data (Material Master, Vendor Master, BOMs, Routings)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret production and technical documentation in English
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule when required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
