Maintenance Technician

Overview

Purpose
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on equipment, machinery, and the facility. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facility, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities
·         Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding workplace safety, quality standards, and productivity goals.
·         Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
·         Facility Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the facility, lighting, and general building upkeep. Address any issues promptly.
·         Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to address maintenance needs and support operational goals.
·         Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and procedures. Propose and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
·         Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Support general upkeep and cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
·         Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay current on all operation techniques and safety guidelines.
·         Efficiently perform tasks and assignments as directed by leadership, assuring adherence to company standards and deadlines.
·         Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, taping, patching, priming, and finishing.
·         Conduct basic building repairs such as drywall patching, flooring repairs, minor plumbing and electrical fixes.
·         Assist with preventive maintenance tasks on forklifts, including fluid checks, tire inspections, mirrors, belts and reporting mechanical issues.
·         Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
·         Attend and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers as needed for facility maintenance or repair projects.
·         Other duties assigned

Skills and Experience

Preferred Qualifications
·         Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance or a similar role, with a basic understanding of mechanical troubleshooting.
·         Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. 
·         Hands-on experience with painting techniques and surface prep.
·         Familiarity with basic carpentry, drywall, and hardware installation.
·         Basic knowledge of forklift systems and preventive maintenance practices.
·         Ability to read and interpret work orders, manuals, and technical drawings.
·         Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or with a team.
·         High school diploma or equivalent.
·         Experience operating forklift, side loader and pallet jacks.
·         Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
·         Bilingual – English/Spanish
