Overview
Ōnin Staffing is currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Dog . This role is responsible for moving semi-trailers within a distribution yard to ensure efficient loading and unloading operations. The ideal candidate has prior hauling experience, strong maneuvering skills, and is comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate yard tractors (yard dogs) to safely move and position trailers throughout the yard Spot trailers at designated dock doors for loading and unloading Hook and unhook trailers, ensuring proper and secure connections Perform daily yard checks and basic pre- and post-trip inspections of yard equipment Maintain yard organization, keeping lanes clear and operations flowing smoothly Assist with general yard or production duties as needed Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience
Prior hauling experience required; candidates must successfully pass a road test
License: Valid driver's license required; CDL is not required
Skills: Strong backing and maneuvering skills Ability to safely haul and position trailers within a yard environment Ability to work independently and stay detail-oriented Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Benefits
