Aa a yard jockey professional who uses a specialized yard truck to move trailers, containers, and other equipment within warehouse, or distribution center. Primary responsibility is to position vehicles for efficient loading and unloading, ensuring the smooth flow of operations and safety within the yard. Also responsible for performing trailer inspections and managing equipment. Key responsibilities Moving trailers: Maneuvering trailers, containers, and other vehicles around the yard, often in tight spaces. Loading and unloading: Positioning trailers at loading docks for easy access by warehouse staff. Inspections: Conducting routine inspections of trailers and equipment to ensure they are in good working order. Equipment management: Handling incoming and outgoing equipment and managing inventory. Safety and coordination: Communicating with dispatchers and dock workers to ensure operations run smoothly and safely.
Skills and Experience
Skills and qualifications:
Valid CDL driver's license: A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
Current up-to-date DOT medical card
Attention to detail: Essential for maneuvering vehicles safely and accurately in busy environments.
