Overview
We are seeking reliable Dockworkers to join our team in a busy furniture distribution warehouse. Dockworkers are responsible for loading, unloading, moving, and staging furniture products safely and efficiently. This role is physically demanding and requires attention to detail to prevent product damage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks with furniture and related items using pallet jacks, dollies, or forklifts (if certified).
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and visible damage.
- Stage, wrap, and secure furniture for storage or delivery.
- Move large, heavy items safely (team lifts may be required for oversized furniture).
- Keep the dock and warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Work closely with team members, drivers, and supervisors to meet daily goals.
Skills and Experience
- Previous warehouse, dock, or material handling experience preferred (furniture or heavy goods experience a plus).
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Dependable and punctual with reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work in a non–climate-controlled environment.
- Forklift experience/certification helpful but not required.
