Overview
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, or patterns to determine
equipment set-up, procedures to be used, or specifications of final products.
• Set up and operate metal cutting band saws.
• Obtain and transfer material to designated machine areas manually, with a hoist or
overhead crane.
• Install saw blades and set blade tension and cutting speed for specified operation.
• Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct workpieces,
using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed; measure
dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to
specifications.
• Set up and operate grinding and related tools that remove burrs from part surfaces.
Skills and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 0-2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to use common power tools and equipment in accordance with safe working
practices to achieve the work outcome.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints, shop drawings, etc. is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure.
