Overview

The Cutting Die Technician is responsible for fabricating, assembling, rubbering, and proofing steel rule cutting dies according to customer specifications and industry standards. This role ensures dies are accurate, high-quality, and ready for production. Responsibilities include bending and inserting steel rules, applying rubber materials, pulling proofs, performing revisions and repairs, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. 

Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in bending, assembling, rubbering, and proofing cutting dies.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, drawings, and blueprints
  • Skilled with measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer)
  • Strong hand-eye coordination, Problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of die shop processes, materials, and industry standards
  • Ability to work safely in high-noise, high-dust environments
  • Physical stamina for lifting, standing, bending, and repetitive tasks
  •  Hands-on experience with shop tools, measuring instruments (tape measure, micrometer), and machine adjustments.
