Cutting Department Technician

Overview

 The Cutting Department Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and overseeing the die-cutting machines and related production processes in the Cutting Department. This role ensures that all products are produced according to customer specifications, quality standards, and company procedures. The technician will also lead and direct Assistant Cutting Technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, production schedules, and performance standards. 

Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the setup, operation, and cleaning of die-cutting machines.

  • Verify job jackets, customer samples, and printed sheets to confirm accuracy in size, color, and copy.

  • Maintain strict quality control, ensuring all products meet customer specifications before moving to the next stage.

  • Conduct inspections and collect random samples during production to verify consistency and quality.

  • Supervise and train Assistant Cutting Technicians.

  • Maintain accurate time, production, and quality records using the company’s systems (Synchronous Flow, ASI).

  • Perform and oversee machine maintenance, adjustments, and blade changes as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety procedures, HACCP, GMPs, and other applicable food safety standards.

  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards in assigned work areas.

  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs as assigned by management.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of production machinery.

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control awareness.

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, job jackets, and specifications.

  • Effective communication and leadership skills.

  • Basic computer literacy for production data entry and reporting.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Physical stamina and coordination to perform manual labor
